Traditional Moroccan Cooking Class and Market Tour: Learn about Moroccan cuisine from Moroccan chefs who will show you how to shop at the local market and gather the ingredients for a delicious traditional meal and tea.Khmisa and Kawtar, two Moroccan women, chefs, foodies and passionate about cooking and the involvement of people in Moroccan culture on the local side.They will welcome you to Marrakech for a meal at the Khmisa workshop, a Riad in the heart of the Medina of Marrakech in the pure tradition of Moroccan cuisine and in a warm family atmosphere. Specializing in Moroccan cuisine and pastry, she has worked for several renowned hotel establishments in Morocco and abroad as well as for various Moroccan restaurants. They will assist you during your cooking class and help you better understand Moroccan cuisine.
First, after discussing your allergies and dietary restrictions, we will head to the Local Food Market (Souk), away from the touristy side of Marrakech. A short walk into the souk to buy the fresh groceries amidst the market stalls filled with spices and local traditions.
Once you return home, you will be greeted with a traditional mint tea and you will learn all the steps of the ritual making before starting the cooking session.
The menu will consist of the most typical Moroccan dishes, including appetizers + a main course + a dessert We will start the preparation of the dishes as a team effort involving everyone and understanding the secrets of Moroccan cuisine and spices This is a shared session and we offer private sessions on request only.
You can come individually or in a group After cooking, you will have time to taste the fruit of everything we have made for a delicious meal.
