The tour assistant/guide will inform you of all the details of your day.
After picking you up from your hotel or a meeting point if your accommodation is inaccessible by car, be ready to start your day trip.
Your first stop will be to visit the Berber, or Amazigh, villages and immerse yourself in their unique culture and way of life. These traditional communities offer a glimpse into the centuries-old ways of life of the indigenous Moroccan people. As you explore the villages, you’ll have the chance to admire their distinctive architecture, watch local artisans at work, and maybe even time your visit to coincide with the weekly souk (market) on Mondays or Thursdays, where you can browse the bustling open-air market and interact with local vendors.
Your next stop, which is optional, is the Argan Women’s Cooperative. Here, you will learn about the sustainable harvesting and processing of argan nuts, a precious resource native to Morocco, and the cooperative’s important role in empowering local women through this traditional industry. (This visit is an encouragement for these women.)
The third stop on your itinerary is a Berber house, where you will have the opportunity to visit a traditional family home and get an insight into the domestic life and cultural traditions of the Berber people. The interior decoration and other elements of the house will provide a better understanding of their way of life.
Once you arrive at Setti Fadma, you’ll meet your local guide and embark on a one-hour hike to reach the area’s stunning waterfalls. After the hike, you will have 1 hour of free time to enjoy a delicious local lunch by the Ourika River and admire the vibrant and picturesque natural landscape that surrounds you.
At the end of this unforgettable day trip to the Ourika Valley, you’ll be ready to return to Marrakech, having immersed yourself in the rich cultural heritage and breathtaking natural beauty of the Berber region.
